Miniature Dwarf Bearded (MDB)
Up to 8” tall
Miniature Dwarf Bearded irises (MDB) are perfect for the front of your perennial border, but they are also at home in a rock garden environment. These cute little irises will bloom with all the gusto of any other iris. They will win your heart as the "Little Iris That Could".
(Aitken, 2001) (7") Wine red standards. Fall are creamy yellow with a wide wine red band.
(Hite, 1982) (7") Near black on the reddish side.
(Keppel, 2011) (7") Pale pink self. The highlight of this iris is the play between the lavender pink style arms and neon blue beards. Very striking!
(Ritchie, 2011) (8") Blue lavender. Lightens on day 2 and 3 and occasionally reblooms for us. We love it.
(Aitken, 2014) (5") Orange standards and red black falls. A real screamer!
MDB (Jensen, 2010) (6") From pumila breeding. Light mauve veined purple. Cute as can be and a fabulous grower.
(Walker, 2020) (7") New for 2020! This little MDB really packs a punch. Buff standards over falls of various shades of maroon and delicate veins. A vigorous grower that will quickly make an adorable clump.
(Walker, 2019) (4.75") Buttery yellow standards over same colored falls with red violet veins and spots heavier at the tip. Beards are bright yellow with a white tip.
(Aitken, 2002) (8") Orange self. And since all things orange must be in my garden, here it is!
(Johnson, 2000) (7") Purple, with a darker fall spot. Just gorgeous!
