E-commerce: Product/Category List

Depending on who you ask, there are between 250 and 300 species of iris in the world...

...and you will find many of them here at Cascadia iris Gardens. If you look close enough, or just ask Patrick where they are, you will find 3 species that are yet to be classified. These 3 irises were collected by local plant hunters extrordianaire, Dan Hinkley and Arlen Hill. All 3 were found in either China or eastern India in the Himalaya Mountans. You will find two of these listed this year, the 3rd likely in 2023. None of these will have a name, but will by listed by their indiviual collection number. We love them, and think you will too.

We are happy to say that 2022 will be a big year for Species iris in our garden. Our local club will be hosting the Society for Siberian Irises National Convention. With it will be a special feature on Species iris. We have added 30 species of iris to our collection in 2018. There will be a Species Trek around our garden led by Jan Sacks of Joe Pye Weed's Garden. This will be a great experience for all iris lovers as we get to learn about all different types of iris in one event.

Please contact Patrick for cultural requirements and growing instructions for any of the Species Iris.
